I am captivated by the colors and forms I see around me, and by the act of translating them using paint. As color interacts with and becomes form – observed, simplified, transformed – magic can happen and, hopefully, a bit of beauty and truth result.
My painting process thrives on the interplay of observation, memory and imagination, and on the dynamic between intuition and intention. Each painting resolves its own balance of these elements. Once I begin a painting, it acquires its own voice and I try to listen.
Each completed painting is the beginning of another.
